  About Horizon Roses

The 2007 edition of Horizon Roses is now available. Horizon Roses is an annual compilation of comments by the nation's top exhibitors on the exhibition potential of the newest hybrid teas, floribundas, miniature and miniflora roses. For most exhibitors, it has long been considered an indispensible guide to buying new show roses.

This year's edition contains 84 pages of information and comments on 328 roses by 75 reporters from throughout the United States. The comments are candid and reported in the words of the reporter (with some abbreviation and condensation). They appear single spaced on both sides of 8-1/2" x ll" sheets folded into a mailer.

There are a total of 1,818 reports with the following varieties receiving the most reports in each class:

Hybrid Tea:
Falling in Love - 31
Let Freedom Ring - 38

Grandiflora:
Wild Blue Yonder - 10

Floribunda:
Johnny Becnel - 13
Julia Child - 13

Miniflora:
Leading Lady - 35

Miniature:
Heather Sproul - 25
Ty - 25

The reports are set forth alphabetically by class and, in an innovation, this year's version also sets forth statistics of the show results of the reported varieties. In addition, information is provided on known sources for the reviewed varieties.

Horizon Roses is produced entirely by volunteers under the direction of Bob Martin, Editor and eight regional editors. The regional editors solicit and compile the comments from selected top exhibitors in their region and forward them for final compilation.

Horizon Roses is available by mail order at $10. Make your check payable to Johnny Premeaux and mail it to him at the address above. The profits from Horizon Roses are donated to the American Rose Society to benefit projects at the American Rose Center, including the Horizon Roses garden of the newest show roses.
