As you can see from the date stamp it is the middle of the night. The middle of the night is familiar territory for a rose exhibitor. With the advent of the 2010 show season, I've been meaning to get to this project of launching a blog. Since the middle of the night is a fine time to be off to the show, it is also a good time to get this blog underway.
The 2010 show season is underway with the first shows in Arizona. I've posted a show calender of the known 2010 shows here which has more than double the entries of those listed at the ARS website. That is because the ARS only lists shows on its calendar when some one at the sponsoring society thinks to report the show in advance to the ARS. Having reported show results for years, I know this step is often overlooked. So I maintain a list of rose societies that typically sponsor rose shows and their usual dates. I then check the local and district websites to verify if a show has been scheduled and add it to the list. I also use the list to cross-check the receipt of results in order to follow up on missing results. If your society's show is not on the list, please write to me and let me know.
